About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and motivated individual with excellent leadership skills to join our Housing team as our Property & Asset Manager. In this interesting and varied role, you’ll manage the day to day activities and develop the business of our Property and Asset Team which concerns the maintenance, improvement and adaptation of the Council’s housing property portfolio and associated assets. You’ll also ensure the effective management of our Contractors to ensure compliance with agreed service standards.
You’ll assist in the development and implementation of our Housing Strategy and Service Plan and support your Service Managers in achieving the priorities and objectives of the Council.

With excellent people management skills and proven experience in a Senior Management role, you’ll have good knowledge of a strategic housing role and a formal qualification in a building related subject. You’ll also need to demonstrate a good understanding and knowledge of a wide range of housing policy and legislation.
Excellent communication skills will be essential along with good attention to detail and the ability to prioritise work so programmes of work are delivered on time and within budget.
You’ll also need a valid driving licence and your own car (reasonable adjustments may be possible according to the Equality Act).
